His Fall collection is just fabulous. "Lauren" has worked his magic once again, and brought back the classic lines that made the the 60s fashions so desirable. While keeping to his classic design roots, he has added new flare to to this years line. He has incorporated wonderful warm neural colors, as well as lush fabrics to make some of the most beautiful clothes he has produced in a long time...I love his uses of fabric, fine wool, velvets, and silks were used to create smashing looks for this winter.

Inspiration ... Perhaps The Sophisticated 1060s -1970s?

To me it appears many fashion designers have borrowed their inspiration from the early 1960s -1070s. Taking fashions back to when women were starting to reveal their curves, but in a very lady like sophisticate way. This is very evident by the dropping hemlines this fall. The mid-knee to well below the knee hemlines tend to be slimming on most body types.

Ralph Lauren's Collection

After viewing designer Ralph Lauren's Fall collection, I came up with a few conclusions of my own. One, I love how he utilized fabulous hats to accessorize his outfits. It's so nice to see the hat make such a huge comeback this year! I have a great YouTube posted just below of Ralph Lauren's New York winter collection. See his winter 2015/2016 New York Show for yourself. One can't help but love Lauren's line for this winter. Another feature I noted was that dresses now have a distinct soft waistline with longer hemlines. His tailored suits showed well defined waistlines with longer fitted jackets, all done up in fabulous tweed fabrics. You're going to be spotting lots of new coat looks, from fitted to oversize maxi lengths.
The Hottest Fall Fabric - Velvet !

Velvet Is A Popular Fabric For This Winter

Let's Have A look At Velvet

Love all the wonderful velvet dresses in the "Photo Gallery"? If so you are going to love Ralph Lauren's latest Fall/winter collection. He after all is the master of classic fashion. I prefer his designs due to their wear ability, and longevity. I have a couple of his blazers that I have been pulling out year after year, for maybe ten years... You can find Lauren's collection at your better department stores, such as "Lord And Taylor or Macy's. I suggest you don't wait long if you hope to purchase something from his Fall collection. " His stuff goes fast!".

Fabulous Evening Wear

Evening wear was where the designers appeared to use some again neutrals, and very soft pastel colors. One can also expect see deep reds, vivid blues, and deep jewel tones. In regards to evening wear, many designers used soft silvery and gold tones to create gowns that were fabulously feminine, and old Hollywood sexy... For all you gals that love black, don't worry the designers have taken care of you... The color black was used in many evening fashion looks. Be prepared to see the color black mixed up with dark gray, stark white, as well as lots of shades of dark midnight blue.

Fabulous Fabric Forecast For 2016 Fall and Winter

If you want to see more of "Ralph Lauren's" winter collection you just have to the visit great video I have posted above. Check out "Lauren's" entire fall/winter collection, it's wonderful ! It's clear that he was inspired by " a time of elegance" a time when women wore clothing that showed their curves in a refined feminine light... Lauren's collection as always showed that he stuck to his classic roots. However, he did show lots of black. The photo shows how Lauren used some fabulous rich neutral velvet's to create some very soft chic evening looks. His collection was my favorite of all this year. I think he designs fashions that one can wear year after year - timeless fashions that make a woman not only look like a woman, but really feel like a woman...

Hemline Forecast For 2016

Let's talk skirts, the pencil skirt is again on trend for this winter. With hemlines at the knee or longer, the maxi length is back. I for one love the maxi, love to pair the maxi with a tall boot. The fitted classic sheath style dress just may provide a much-needed antidote to all the looser styled dresses of last winter. This season will feature dresses that are well tailored, edgier, and have with a bit of vintage 1960's flare. This year designers have also included all of the most popular fall color that we all love. Such as deep golds, browns, camels and lush royal red tones.

Hemline Variations Hold On For Another Season

Note the soft fabrics, and back dropped hem used in this particular dress. The design was definitely inspired by the 1060's, however given a bit of a twist with the back drop hemline ....Note the fabulous shoes. The choice of shoes really puts the whole look over the top.
Hemlines Trends
I think all of us women will be happy to hear that the hemlines are very diverse for this fall and winter. I happen to love a hemline that falls below the knee or falls to mid-calf. So I am so pleased to see these hemlines back in fashion. However the shorter mini is still around for all the women how truly prefer this shorter hemline. So one could say, we all get our way this season.

Please take my poll.... I know you have an opinion on hemlines... So, please share

  •  I like a hemline that falls just above the knees...
  •  I just love my mini's!
  •  I am a bit classical, I prefer my hemline to fall just below the knee...
  •  I am really into the maxi hemline....

Dresses Fabulous Dresses

Dress styles this season are so chic, and sophisticated. Wonderful dresses as always have held the number one spot on wardrobe must haves.
It's so nice to be able to play dress up again . Dresses have come back in a big way this year. Hemlines are up and down, dress lines are figure flattering, and the new trendy styles enhance women's curves. Most dresses are designed to fall just at the knees or mid-calf this year. These lengths tend to be flattering on most women, and are a comfortable length for most women to wear.
The sheath styled dress seems to be one of the design styles that has been around forever. I love this classic style. It can be worn for business or all dressed up. So functional, and shows off the waistline too. The newer sheath dress designs have variations when it comes to hemline. You will see hemlines that fall just at the knee or down to mid-calf. The sheath can be also be belted, to further show off ones waistline, if desired. Designers have not disappointed, the new sheath designs for this season are wonderful, easy to wear and accessorize. They can be dressed up nicely for a night out or played down for business.

What's Up With Color For This Winter

A bit little more about color...Colors that dominated the runway shows were to put it mildly, neutral and soft. The neutrals took center stage and were the most evident on the runways. However, some designers did a smashing job at making otherwise bland colored fashions pop with great accessories. All you women that love color don't fret, all the classic colors you expect when winter rolls around will be on the racks. However, the on trend colors will be s neutrals. Lots of soft taupe, tans, and winter white as well as lots of shades of gray. The color black as always was prevalent in an abundance on the runways. Not to say that some designers didn't use brighter colors, because they did. However, it did appear the brighter colors were played down, used only to accompany more neural fashions.

Fall/Winter Think Snow - Think Winter Whites

Some Wonderful Colors Are Coming Your Way

This fall the most popular colors at New York fashion week appears to be black, and shades of gray. However the fall runway shows did show off some wonderful colors.
Let's Talk Color ! Lots of neutrals, and warm grays will be on the racks this Fall. As well as all shades of brown, camel, and mustard gold. Other colors that were hot on the fall/winter runway shows, sapphire blue, claret red, maroon, rusts, and eggplant...Plus fabulous some dark blue jewel tones, However, get ready to see loads and loads of gray, and black fashions on the department store racks his season. The color Black and Gray dominated most of the Fall Fashion shows. The cut on trend is all over the place form oversize Pea coats, to double breasted military styles.
Winter Whites is one of the biggest trends - Winter white is here to stay. There is just something about white on white... I have always love the look of winter white fashions.

For All You Women That Love Patterns - Got You Covered

Do you like Print patterns? If so this Fall you will be able to find all kinds of print patterns, not only in dresses, but fabulous pants, and jeans. Can the average women pull this look off? I must say they look really fashionable on a skinny model . But for me, well I will give a pair or to a try-on. But, I gotta feeling print pants are not going to be my cup of tea. I am thinking, it' may depend perhaps on the pattern of the print . Perhaps a less fussy might be just the thing? Anyway they're worth a try-on.

Don't You Just Love This Wide-Brim Hat - It's A Must Have For This Winter

Over sized Russian Hats Are On Trend For This Fall - The runway were full of this little number .

The Oh-So-Popular Cloche Hat

One thing that jumped out at me when I reviewed next falls fashion runway shows is that most models that walked down the runway was sporting a great hat. To me it was very apparent hat will be a big fashion trend this winter. The Cloche style hat is one of my favorite. To me it's not only chic, but very romantic. I also like the over sized Russian fur numbers, as well as the big brimmed felt hats.
I like the look of the Cloche, and the Russian fur styled hats. I think one can get away with wearing these styles with a sporty outfit as well as a more chic dressier outfit. I love a great hat on a cold day. I just think a hat gives that little extra pop to an outfit.

The Oh So High Stiletto Pump ...

Source

The slinky spiky pump are hot - time to discard the platform...

You can definitely see the new shoe styles are again headed back to the early to mid 1960's. The pointed toe pump! I for one love this look. The T-strap is one of my favorite styles pointed pump. Actually with all the new but old looks in fashion one really needs to finish off the look with an old but new shoe... One more thing - If you do choose to purchase a new pair of pump for next Fall, the color Black or Gray would be a good investment. You will get more bang for your buck.
I purchased the red number in the photo. OMG, so fabulous, so comfortable! I know i recommended one purchase black or gray, but I had to buy red!

Boots For This Fall Again Vintage Inspired

Source

Tally-ho !

I have to say, as a girl who spends most days rushing around , I am really appreciating the recent trends of heel-less shoes. After spending all summer in feet-friendly ballet flats, I am very much looking forward to getting myself a pair of what will be one of this fall's hottest looks: the low-heel riding boot. These boots are a sight for sore eyes. Not that I don't love my high heels boots, but as much as pointy, spike stiletto pumps scream style, and will continue to be very much in style this fall, the forgivingly round-toed boots scream something even better - comfort ! They don't look half bad either. This particular shoe fashion looks great with a short little dress or over some tucked in skinny jeans.
I like the riding boot for its versatility, and comfort. The riding boot is a very classic style that will take you through year after year. In the long run they will save you money too! If you are going to buy a pair of riding boots, I suggest purchasing a pair in black or dark brown. Think how well these two colors will mix with fall colors. You will be able to pull those boots out often this winter.
